Modernize Thai Temple
As the world develops in terms of materialism, the aspects of spiritual and religion is being
decayed at the same time. The newer generation turns to seek for material or digital pleasure
and has forsaken their cultural root. One of the reasons is that the spiritual places do not have the
right “attractions” to attract the newer generation who always look for something modern and
contemporary rather than going back to the history. Therefore, the approach is to redesign the
spiritual architecture which in this case is Thai temple. “Keeping the ancient concept and purpose
of the temple being the heart of the city while merging it with modern style of architecture” is
the goal to draw attention of the new generation. This will shift their perception towards temple
into something rather interesting and not just old traditional style which has been passed on for
hundreds of years.
