Thesis statement : (first draft January 18, 2010)
Gay- Homosexuality had always been strife for their right, the equality and happiness in the society around them. The numerous laws were passed regarding legal recognition of same-sex marriage or other types of partnerships .The myriad of internet social network and digital Medias play a major part for the gay community to express and connect themselves. However, the political systems and internet connections are all still consider in more of abstract scenes; they are not provide any kind of a physical space, a belongingness and engagement in the society that is conducive for their real happiness of everyday life. It is necessary to move away from the obsessive concern with the sexuality of the individual, and attempt to see the homosexual in terms of the broader attachments that he must make to live and struggle to find beatitude in the world around him.
Many gay individual always seek forward for their asylums, in many forms of spaces, most importantly night life gathering and sexual destination. We can’t totally disdain and disrupt such places, since they are a part of pleasure and enjoyment for gay community. However, how could we proposed an architectural intervention that is support a real happiness for everyday life that gives a longer extend depart from a nightlife period of time. How could we provide a space and new perception that would reimage and ameliorate the Bangkok gay sex city into a love, welcome and friendship where hope, dream and fantasies can come through for every walk of life.
