I am postponing the paper resubmission deadline to the week after the midterm review (Friday March 4, 9 am) so you can have more time to focus on the midterm presentation including research, site analysis, program development. You should also talk and create schematic models and/or images to express what you plan to work on for design development in the second half of the semester. Our invited guest include: Aj. Nilay Mistry and Aj. Michael Freedman.
Best of Luck to everyone and please let me know if you have any questions. I will be at TCDC on Sunday afternoon to meet with my third year students taking part in Can structure event. If you would like to meet on Sunday, email me.

An exhibition of architecture for the community
The exhibition of Community Act Network (CAN) such as the discussion on community development related issues, the exhibit of community design works, a photo display, an area for volunteer application, and other activities to support the operation of the network
UNIVERSAL DESIGN exhibition
Senior people and the disabled are increasing in number day by day. Residences and public buildings that provide them services, both in the public and private sectors also increase. Public offices, mass transit stations, trade centers, or even sidewalks are all public places that everyone should have equal access to and use. Architects as a small group of people in the society working on designs should be conscious of the need to adapt this big world for everybody to happily coexist in peace.
The UNIVERSAL DESIGN exhibition in Architect '11 is the sharing of experiences for architects and the general public to learn from real situation in ASA exhibition area. Visitors can get real experiences on wheelchair which gives them better understanding than studying from designs alone, as service users themselves in the model house or the "kind house". This can make the world more livable and bring smiles to every face.
Green School exhibition
This is a joint activity between the Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage and Siam City Cement Company Limited (Eagle Cement) in running the Green School Project for the Border Patrol Police Schools under the cooperation with the Office of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's Projects.
Young Architect Volunteers and Flooding Crisis exhibition
Activities in the flood victim assistance project by students from architecture educational institutions in area survey and collection of data on physical damages of residences, communities, schools, and religious sites, to be proposed to government agencies, so that assistance and construction materials are properly prepared for flood victims in accordance with the real damages in each area.

Design/Build for Community
Check out the party at the Akha Village Community Pavilion:
Aj. Komthat visited the area over winter holiday. The villagers seem to be really using the space. All the solar lights are still in place but some of the gravel and planting has been washed away during the heavy monsoon season. I have more pictures of both Mai Sai design build projects, which I will post later on.
